Due to certain changes that won't be reverted, squids no longer spawn in air. This guide will attempt to address the issue that players are having with their squid grinders due to this. That being said, squids now require water in order to spawn, as shown here. This is a grinder that @Akago made for the squid grinder that works pretty well. 1. Place signs underneath where the water will go in order to allow the squids to swim and fall down from the water. 2. Place water over the signs so the squids can spawn 3. Place squid spawners over the water Overall, it's a pretty simple change & it should not take long to accommodate your grinders to fit this change. For anyone who doesn't know how to stack signs, you can hold shift and right click a sign with another sign to put them on top of each other.
