Thoughts? (Up For Discussion) Prevent camping in HSB

    HI there, within my party chat on carrot, I've noticed that several people are tired of camping in Hot Snowball, as it ruins the fun for others when it turns into hide and seek. Some ideas I've seen include a teleport to spawn at 2 or 3 players left, glowing effect for players when not many are left, or a penalty for staying in the same area too long.

    If anyone has ideas, please comment them down below. I'm not promising that anything will be implemented though, as that's simply just not up to me.

    My Ideas:
    • Glow for 10-15 seconds when 3 players are left
    • Apply velocity to anyone on top of spawn
    • 1v1 duel TP (north and south end of spawn)

    It'd be nice if the time was longer the fewer people there were.. when there's 13 people in the arena running around 30 seconds is just fine, I can find someone to try and tag in that time, but when it's 2, 3, or 4 people, I need longer than 30 seconds to find them, because just about everyone is hiding in one of the towers, or on top of spawn, or behind some random present. It feels like such an undeserved loss when I lose only because I can't find anyone, like "wow that wasn't even my fault that I died people are just camping". I feel like once it's down to 5 players the timer should add a couple seconds every time someone loses.. maybe 40 seconds at 4 players, 50 at 3, and a full minute at 2 players, this would pair well with the glow effect so we aren't playing Dollar Store hide and seek when I que for Hot Snowball. Also, it would be cool that, if the timer was below 5 seconds when you were tagged (the strategy people use to get instant kills, where they wait til it's one second then tag you), the timer would instantly be set to 5 seconds. I feel like HSB has kind of sparked toxicity in the community, even some reputable players have been angry in chat about their loss, I feel that's because they didn't feel it was their fault they lost.. "I didn't even do anything wrong I just died because.." blah blah.. etc. I feel these changes would help the game feel more skill based and not just a battle of luck. Also, an Arena for the last 2 would be cool, it teleports them close to each other so they are forced to actually play for the win, not just sit somewhere crouched and wait the timer out. Alternatively to these, you could have a "Sudden Knockout" mode, where, if, for the last 2 or 3 people, if someone is picked "it" but they can't even manage to tag anyone, all remaining players are teleported around the spawn, everyone is it, and as soon as you're hit with a snowball you're out, which would be a cool way to end games while still being fair when it becomes a hide-and-seek scenario.

    TL;DR: Add time when there's fewer people still in the HSB match, possibly add the glowing effect to this in the last 3 or 4 or 5.
    Make the timer reset to 5 if it is below that when someone's tagged.
    Endgame arena, teleport the last 2 to a pit and make them duke it out.
    Sudden Knockout mode at 2 or 3 players if the person who is it can't find anyone to tag at all.

    I would say that if people aren't moving they loose, like an afk kick, but longer range, or close the doors to the buildings and remove access to the top building, and other camping spots like that, because its a game of tag, not timed hide and seek, or just make camping punishable

    Firstly, I would like to say. KY and Kiri did an amazing job working on this game! The fact that you can get a Time Caps. key and Christmas Key, without having to pay for it, SO GENEROUS and Thank you! That being said, I agree with the hiding. It is an unfortunate thing that HSB turned into. I highly doubt changes would be implemented for this go around. These ideas should be saved for next year or the next game that is released with a similar style.

    All of that being said. I feel like they added something very fun (sometimes frustrating) but overall a very fun update that was not required...
