The server reset caught me in the middle of my remodel of my Woodland mansion, so after the reset, even before getting my donor rank back, I set out to get another mansion. The first photo is how my previous mansion looked like at the time of the reset, the second is he new mansion, you can see that I've started clearing and leveling the area in front of it. This thread is to show the progress as I go through the mansion and remodel, the first room that I remodeled was one of the Illiger statue rooms, I removed the wool sculpture, and created a warehouse (photo number 3), I hope you enjoy seeing the progress as I go though it, if you want to see the original, when the world download is available, the co-ords are: 114847/63/19711, I'll be making that building available as a Structure File when the download comes out for those of you who want it for your single player survival worlds.
So the progress is coming along pretty well, this particular mansion needs a bit more site prep than the last one, I've spent the last week of playing time working both inside and out, 1st the outside, you've already seen the start of it on the first post, here are some new shots since then: Now that the site prep is done, it's time to build the portico, it will look like this one I built in my single player scaffold world:
This is super cool! Really want to see the finished result. Wish you luck for that seems like it will take a long time! <3
Well the remodel is coming along, the front porch is on hold while I gather enough iron for all of the anvils I use for the finials on the rail around the edge(man I miss my iron golem farm!). So I took this chance to start a room inside the house across from the warehouse room, I took one of the Illiger statue rooms and two small maze(spiral staircase?) rooms to build a dining room. You will notice a couple of things here, on the outside facing walls I put in blue glass, this is going to be repeated throughout the 1st floor except where the wall is underground. 2nd the wall design on the inside walls these are made from quartz and coal blocks, this design will be repeated throughout the entire house, these design changes are part of my attempt to break-up all of the dark wood that is this house! The end city banners on each side of the fireplace will be changed out later to something more in keeping with a grand house, when I manage to get a few of those black skeleton skulls( I can't remember what they're called). If anyone has an Iron Golem farm they're willing to let me use for an afternoon, I'd really appreciate the favor, it would give me a chance to get back on track with the outside of the house, please contact me in game, my user name is the same here as there. Hope you enjoyed the update!
So I'm still working on the house, I've got a few rooms almost done, and the front porch is almost done(till need a ton of iron). But I figured I should do a small project that I could post up right now, so I remodeled the front stairs to the second floor: Before you ask, the white line is from a structure block because I'm dumb and forgot to take a screen shot before I started, so I loaded a house up in my scaffold world to take a before shot, now the after images:
Alright, we've got a twofer this next one, I had a large jail, and a weird divot section of the hallway, I made this into two rooms, a smoking room, and a wine rack room, these are near the dining room and warehouse. So first I gutted the jail cell: The original entrance of the jail will become the entrance of the wine rack room, next is opening the wall into the hallway and subdividing the old jail to make space for the smoking room. In the above image we're looking into the back of the ail from the hallway, the right wall will be extended, the door on the left will be closed off and that room will be the coat room when I move it to the other side of that room, and the wall will now be extended across the two columns in the foreground of this photo. Once the room is built, I'm adding glazed terracotta to that floor, and building a fireplace: Now some furniture: Then the wine rack room: I built this based on the original standard design that spawns in these mansions, so it should look pretty familiar.
