I think we should a system for voting where if you vote a certain number of times, you get a reward. Maybe a voting token that you can trade in for temporary ranks? What do you guys think?
The voting token is basically what /points is. I do like the idea of having a physical token to trade into something nice. /points do feel very underwhelming right now as you would have to collect an insane amount to have something actually worthwhile. A physical token would also create another opportunity for business! As for the temporary ranks.. The first problem with a temporary /vote rank is what would you include in the rank? Would those things still be beneficial for both non-donor players and donor players? I don't think there's much out there that would do so. And if there is a list of perks for the rank, I would imagine it to be very small and not chasing for. There's also the issue of trying to keep up with the "temporary" rank so you wouldn't feel the need to try to always have it. This would feel very grindy/annoying for a lot of people to do so and cause burn out. This same "temporary" rank system is implemented into a famous game called "Runescape" where players will find that it's almost essential to grind out in game money to buy subscriptions to play as a "member" or pay with your IRL wallet.

Euph, about the ranks I’m not thinking of a totally new voting rank, (if you guys can think of it, let’s assume it is that) I’m thinking of like apr, or something…
Yeah so if it's let's say "APR" rank in this case, wouldn't the player have to keep voting every day to keep up with having the premium rank? It might sound like not a big deal but logging on to /vote every day when you're not really in the mood to, just so you can make sure you have enough "vote points" to purchase the next rank renewal, can get really annoying. Like you'll feel like you've lost something "essential". This is a list of the current benefits of APR rank: If you were to lose abilities like setting ten homes, /feed, /kit Apprentice, or even /tags.. you would feel like you lost a fundamental aspect of playing on the server. It's like the example I gave with the game Runescape. Grinding to keep up with premium stats. You will burn out trying to do it. It's really hard to balance rank through voting reward system as you're purchasing a set combination of permission so it should be priced high and therefore is harder to keep up with. Let's say you can get a maximum of 5 voting points per day, a temporary 7 days APR rank voucher is worth 35 points, you will not be able to keep up with a permanent one if you were to miss a day of voting. (Not to mention how sometimes /vote bugs and doesn't give you the last key/reward..) Why not just lower the cost? It becomes too easy to maintain the rank. Why not just raise the cost? Will the rank even be worth getting anymore? For example: 7 days APR rank voucher = 60 points, I would have to vote for 12 straight days if I wanted to get the 7 days APR rank voucher.. It won't even be worth it anymore.. This is where the issue with balancing it out is at... An easier option for the current idea is purchasable /permissions. This way, you can keep up with whatever benefits you want to have while also not being heavily punished for missing a few days. Things like /skulls, /feed, /workbench, /hat, /tags are great ideas for voting token rewards. Buying more /sethome slots would be amazing for non-donor players too.. though this might be pushing the limit a little bit..
Ngl, Idk how I feel about ranks but I like what you guys have to say for permissions or cmds. You can also think cosmetics and what not! People will still get some kind of basic rewards like money in addition to a vote token or something.
