Now, I know this role has been a thing and has supposibly been replaced by Trainees but hear me out.

I'm writing this after recent events on potato where new players had issues with the tutorial, their homes or other commands, and I had to go over to carrot to get a mod to potato to help which might bother them for something not really important that could be fixed easily ig.

Then I thought to myself: What if there was a role which's only purpose was helping players. They would have access to qol commands only and would be certified "guides" for new players who often are lost. Maybe have an inter-servers chat to contact mods if there are none in the current server too. They wouldn't be able to punish players nor vanishing and it wouldn't be part of the trainee to admin system I think.

It would make it so players that are willing to help but don't want to have the weight of punishments to carry, can still help and I'm sure it would be useful and get more people involved in the community aspect.

Hopefully this get some reaction from staff in general so I can get their point of view on this and thaank you for taking the time to read :D

I like and don't like the idea personally. While I agree it would be nice, but that is the point of Trainee, to assist players. While I agree tutorial could be updated in some way, in the end, it more then likely won't be really useful. It seems clear as is in the tutorial provided. If a user is needing help, you can also respond to them. There isn't a need for a Mod or anything to join over unless it's for moderation.

Which is why the Discord and Forums are provided.

Isn't `/helpme` provided for that reason? I could be wrong and it doesn't do it between both servers.

I'll be honest, it's a nice idea. In hindsight however it probably won't be useful if the player doesn't read it then. Kinda just like tutorial.

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea. However, there are just many things to take into consideration. Of course they could add it in the future, but it can take lots of planning.

Lots of love from the foxo! <3 <3

We've had this role a long time ago and it has since then been removed. Also, this role will probably not come back and I agree it shouldn't come back. Either you are staff or not. We don't need to add unnecessary confusion players. This is why we have staff assistance and bug reports.

If we do add Helper back, it would be for chat only like it use to be.

I can confirm that "helper" will not be returning either as staff or community helpers in this sense. We also had a CMT group called Community Helpers which would bring community issues to the attention of the development team. Anyone is welcome to help new players and its always appreciated.
