Because farm animals (such as cows, sheep, pigs, chickens etc.) all stack, if makes it really difficult to have an animal farm. The animals stack and it prevents you from breeding them / treats them as only being one animal. They tend to occasionally disappear again when the clearlag activates.
Also, with auto-animal farms, the animals stack and don't die in lava the same way a single animal would (it takes longer, ruining the design). It feels like it would be better to prevent them from stacking so that people can have normal animal farms ^^

I understand, but for lag reasons, this will be hard to be made possible. Maybe have a limit to how many animals can be in the space of a chunk or so at one time or something.

Potentially so, but that definitely could help. Mob stacking already exists, where if there are too many, some will 'suffocate' and die - could just make it so that the number needed for that is lower, so if there are more than a certain amount in one chunk some of them will die, or require them to be more animals there before any of them start to stack? I'm not sure, it just really would be better for people trying to farm animals if we didn't have to deal with them stacking so much. I can only see it becoming a truely laggy issue in the case of people having a lot of spawners.

    Yeah that's understandable.
