Right now, because of whatever is controlling the spawn rates of the server, spawning is abysmal. I have a pigman farm that literally produces one pigman every several minutes rather than the multiple per second it is supposed to. Because of this, it is nearly impossible to level up archery, swords, axes, and unarmed. So I suggest that either players can get xp from mobs spawned by spawners or the spawn rates are turned back to normal. Although getting xp from mob spawners sounds op, it is not because of the built in diminishing returns feature that mcmmo has. Turning the spawn rates back to normal would also fix the issue, as players could then build standard mob grinders to gain mcmmo xp.

Low spawn rates could be due to lag and large amounts of entities being loaded. If you think about it, there could even be thousands of entities at once, with spawner farms and things. Maybe it would be cool if we could get McMMo from killing mobs at the grinder if it's possible to set particular mobs for McMMo?

Playing into the previous post, if you have yourmob farm in the nether it's harder to control the ancillary mob numbers than if you built in a remote area in the end.

Well i also have an enderman farm that should be producing about 10 endermen per second and at best gets 1 per second. I don't know if the mob spawning is due to lag which is why I suggested it as an alternative to getting xp from spawners.

the spawning is due to the server View Distance. the default VD is 10, and that the minimum of what it should be set at for pigmen spawners etc. right now it is set to 4 to reduce lag, yet this is a small server and it doesnt lag much and id rather lag a litle more but have better content in game

I don't know what the status of this is right now because I don't have a mob grinder, but I do know that mob grinders used to be way overpowered. Personally I prefer the slow spawn rate to the overpowered one.
I'm pretty sure mob spawning is not affected by view distance. I think it's based on random ticks.

    1. Literally nerfing mob farms by hundreds of times is NOT good no matter how you put it. One pigman every several MINUTES. You basically cant get anything out of mobfarm in return for the hours of effort put in.
    2. Mob spawning is not based on the random tick speed. You have no clue what you are talking about.

    1. I didn't say it was good, I just said that what we had before was even worse.
    2. You would be correct, that's why I said "I think". However I just looked at it and it's not affected by view distance either. It's based on min spawn delay and max spawn delay.

    1. Getting a satisfying return on hours of work and many more hours of design when designing your own farm is better than getting basically no return. If you dont like getting big returns, dont build a big or efficient farm.

    1. I disagree, but I think we're just going to have to accept that.
    2. I stand corrected, I would never have seen that.

The management team is going to be looking more in depth to the suggestion to see if we'd be able to make it work out.
