Just tested it, it was not resolved. Are you sure this is a bug? I thought it was a prevention thing set in place to avoid certain methods of spamming and grief.
I thought it was a bug when it happened, because the day before, I'd been able to place duplicate signs.
I've never been able to place duplicated signs. Maybe your day before was a bug? Or maybe signs themselves aren't even an item in the game?! :O The world may never know now
im trying to make some chest shops and i keep getting this error: I Shift click to place the sign , type the text, click done. and the sign pops out (fails to place) and the console gives this error in red "you cannot make multiple signs with the same text!" sometimes the "error": fails and i can place the sign but 9/10 time i get the error.
This is to avoid sign spam iirc. The best way to avoid it is to make a sign that just says like "e" or something. Then do what you wanna do after.
I have heard of some players on the server experiencing the same problem even when there are no duplicate signs around. Also do not understand why sign spam is an issue at all. I mean seriously what logical reason is there for it. Also probably hinders using signs with special characters as decoration boarders in a building sense. I can see the reason this is needed in General Chat but Signs really don't make much sense to limit. I mean if its bothering someone they can just delete it or ignore it. Remove it from the server and you probably will have like 0-1 issue every 2-6 months.
I've made a change on both servers which should occur next restart. Please let me know if there are any differences/errors or other issues.
