Shano’s quick guide to claiming: What you should have: 1 Golden Shovel 1 Stick The area you want to claim What I’ll go over in this guide: Claiming Land Managing Claims Managing Permissions Expanding Claims Subdividing Claims Claiming Land: Let's say I want to claim my house I just built: All you need to do is right click your gold shovel in one corner: then with your shovel still equipped travel to the opposite corner and right click again. A message should appear in chat saying your claim was created. Notes: - When you equip your shovel or click your first corner you will be able to see how many claim blocks you have available. - Un-equipping your shovel will cancel any claiming you are currently doing. - You need a minimum of a 100 (10x10) claim. Managing Claims: The easiest way to manage your claims is by typing “/claimlist”. In my case I have 4 current claims: With the list you can see the coords of the claim, how many blocks it takes up and what dimension it is in. One of the greatest weapons with claims is the stick, right clicking the ground allows you to see if there are any claims there, the borders of the claim who the claim belongs to. If you want to remove your current claim simply walk into the claim and type “/abandonclaim”. The chat should say that the claim was abandoned and how many blocks you have available. Managing Permissions: There are 4 levels of trust within claims: Access Trust Container Trust Trust Permission Trust Access Trust: Grants users permission to use buttons and doors /accesstrust {username} Container Trust: Grants users the ability to open chests, furnaces, farming (includes animals). Also grants users Access Trust /containertrust {username} Trust: Allows users to build. Also grants users Container Trust /trust {username} Permission Trust: Allows users to share their level of permission with someone else. /permissionrust {username} **Be very careful with who you give this to** To Untrust someone type “/untrust {username}”. Expanding claims: Lets say I wanted to make my claim around my house bigger. All I have to do is right click one corner of my claim, and then right click where I want the corner to be. Click the first corner (Note the confirmation in chat) Clicking the new corner (Note the confirmation in chat) Subdividing Claims: This is the safest way to create towns. Essentially it creates claims inside your claim that allows you to set permissions for specific areas. Lets say I want to create a town out of this area: The first thing I'm going to want to do is switch my shovel into subdivide mode by typing “/subdivideclaims” with my shovel equipped. Then, just as you would create a normal claim, create the sub-divison claim within your main claim. Click the first corner (Note the confirmation in chat) Clicking the opposite corner (Note the confirmation in chat) As you can see the sub-claim is shown with iron and wool: Once you have that claim you can now give players permissions inside that claim. To do this simply step in the subclaim and use the permissions commands. Users who have access to the sub-claim do not have access to the main claim. To abandon the claim use “/abandonclaim” in the sub-claim. That's the whole guide, hopes it's helpful, if you do need more help just respond in the comments and I should respond quickly.
Nice guide! I'm sure a lot of new players will find it very useful. There's a small error in the managing claims section, you say you have 3 claims, but the message shows you have 4.
Thanks, I've fixed that small error you mentioned. Hopefully I can create a few more of these to help others out!
A little error in the area explaining /permissiontrust. You accidentally spelled it wrongly as /permission(t?)rust. Otherwise, great guide for the newer players!
I did a guide to Peaceful Farms rank and I sponsored a link that they can go to if they need help claiming blocks, so it would be easier for them.
