I was thinking back to when me and a friend unfortunately ended up losing some sell shards due to accidentally combining them in the inventory. The current system allows for combining sell shards by dropping them into the same inventory slot. This is really easy to do completely on accident, and it can be important to keep sell shards separate if wanting to place them in several different chests to auto sell stuff from hoppers. I'd propose simply having the shards be combined by crafting them together either in the 3x3 workbench or the 2x2 in your inventory. This would prevent accidental combining.
