I had an idea to smelt raw ore blocks, the process I have in mind, the player wouldn't gain anything other than speed. This would be a useful solution because it would prevent players from needing to have many chests loaded with regular ore in an auto smeltery instead of just one or two chests filled with ore blocks. This would increase the rate of smelting as well. Either make it such that only coal blocks may be used to smelt the raw ore block, or make it so that it requires 8 times as much time as regular ore.
there is a plugin for this, it has just not been added. me, steve_o_jr, and many others have played with this and it is insanely useful. i believe it works in league with mcmmo mining 1k resulting in double smelt rewards
