Make it so that people with access to ./ptime can still hatch turtles by using ./ptime night. It's almost impossible to get the entire server to agree on keeping the server time to night.
I agree and I think this would solve the problem in a way that would please everybody, but I think it might be difficult to implement from a programming standpoint. For example, if there are two players standing around some turtle eggs and one player is in /ptime day and the other is in /ptime night, should the turtles hatch or not?
So I could not post my message for some reason and even Amber could not help me figure out why so instead here is a picture of my intended message. https://imgur.com/VFLn0Ij
StevenL's message (so others can read it): Another option would be a command that tallies a vote for nighttime. For example nighttime approaches and the server sends a message that ask if you want night time do a command named something like vote-night. Now this can be configured such that if lets say more then ten percent of the online population wants night time any attempt to change it to day would simply not work unless an admin changes it directly. My response: I like the idea of having the players vote on nighttime, but I think I would implement it slightly differently. My suggestion is to get rid of the day changer button in /shop and just have a poll every Minecraft evening and whichever has more votes (day or night) is what the server is set to. You could also make it so only donors can vote in this poll, so that perk stays with the donor ranks.
I don't believe that changing a players time will actually affect the overall server state because you're changing the view of the sky, not the actual effects if that makes sense; however, /ptime is available for APR donor rank and higher. There is no plans for this idea to be implemented just yet, i'll make this thread be up for discussion to see other player opinions. Thank you for suggesting none the less!
